Spike and Waves Brave Bears were created to support children undergoing EEG procedures through comfort, familiarity, and a sense of empowerment. Their presence helps ease anxiety, encourages cooperation during testing, and creates space for meaningful, child-friendly conversations about epilepsy.
Designed as both companions and educational tools, they represent resilience during medical experiences and give families a tangible way to prepare their child for what to expect. They are trusted resources for clinicians, parents, and educators working to make the EEG journey feel less overwhelming for children.
Which bear is right for you?
• Spike – Courage Cub
Compact, easy to carry, and ideal for EEG prep, hospital visits, and on-the-go comfort.
• Waves – Full-Size Comfort Bear
Slightly weighted and extra snuggly, designed for deeper comfort, recovery, and ongoing support.
Many hospitals start with a mix of both. Families can also donate bears directly to hospitals. For a more complete experience, explore our Clinic Courage Kits through the Clinic Courage Program.
